I finally figured out what fueled SK hynix's explosive rally today. I opened the chart expecting a routine relief bounce, but that massive green candle told a different story. Moves like this rarely come from a single headline—they're usually the result of multiple bullish catalysts aligning at once. The first catalyst was a strong insider signal. On July 30, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won purchased 3,620 shares of SK hynix worth approximately ₩4.8 billion. It was his first direct investment in the company, having previously held exposure only through SK Square. After the stock had fallen from around ₩2.18 million to ₩1.32 million, his purchase sent a powerful message of confidence to the market. The second catalyst was broad strength across the memory chip sector. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surged more than 7%, while companies including SanDisk, Seagate, Western Digital, Micron, and SK hynix all posted strong gains. That's the kind of sector-wide rotation that typically reflects institutional buying rather than retail enthusiasm. Microsoft's earnings added even more momentum. Azure continued its strong growth, annual cloud revenue surpassed $100 billion, and improved profitability eased concerns about slowing AI infrastructure spending. At the same time, bullish analyst reports and expectations for stronger DRAM pricing and HBM demand next year reinforced the positive outlook. As for my position, my average entry is around 908.37, and I'm sitting on a healthy unrealized profit. I'm not trying to pick the exact top. My plan is to scale out gradually into strength while continuing to raise my stop-loss to protect gains. If price pulls back without violating my risk level, I'll reassess based on the market—not emotion. One lesson this trade keeps reinforcing: finding a great trend is only half the battle.
