Town Star is a play-to-earn competitive farming blockchain game built by Gala Games. In this game, players compete to create the most efficient and productive town by managing, producing and selling goods produced on their farms. TOWN is the name and ticker symbol of Town Star's native ERC-20 play-to-earn reward token.
Town Star hosts term-based competitions in both their weekly server and play-to-earn servers. Its gameplay awards players with TOWN tokens for completing daily and month-long challenges by using their non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Town Star NFTs are freely-tradeable NFT characters such as bots, storage buildings, resource-providing stands, water towers and more. They unlock play-to-earn rewards and help you complete tasks on your farm at a greater speed. Additionally, for each Town Star Season, you will be required to hold an NFT ticket called Season Pass to earn TOWN rewards throughout that season.
You can earn TOWN by staking their NFTs or supporting their gaming infrastructure by running a Town Star node. With future upgrades, you can purchase exclusive NFTs and in-game upgrades using TOWN. You can also boost Gala Power by holding TOWN in your player wallet.
TOWN has a maximum supply of 1 quadrillion. TOWN was introduced as the official reward token for Town Star's play-to-earn ecosystem on October 5, 2021. It was not offered via an initial coin offering. Instead, TOWN tokens are released into the circulating supply through quests in the Town Star ecosystem. Apart from player rewards, TOWN tokens are also distributed to Town Star nodes and Founder's nodes (nodes native to Gala Games) operators.
Town Star plans to reduce the TOWN supply by accepting TOWN for TOWN-exclusive NFT purchases and in-game upgrades. TOWN received from these sales will be burned, thus impacting TOWN price charts.
Players are also encouraged to hold TOWN in their player wallets to accumulate rewards within the ecosystem. This mechanism also impacts TOWN's price.
Town Star was created by Gala Games, a leading blockchain game development platform founded by Eric Schiermeyer, Wright Thurston and Michael McCarthy.
Eric Schiermeyer co-founded Zynga, the company behind popular games like FarmVille. The other co-founder, Michael McCarthy, served as the creative director at Zynga and is credited for creating FarmVille. Finally, Wright Thurston, the chief blockchain officer at Gala Games, has several patents on blockchain technology.
Gala Games have partnered with Brave, Mazer Gaming, Bitrue, Flare and Polygon.
