About Kadena (KDA)
Kadena is a proof-of-work blockchain network that uses graph theory to braid multiple base layer chains together, leading to greater throughput and security than single chain designs. Known as the Chainweb protocol, every block references multiple previous blocks on each braided chain, rather than a single one as with traditional blockchain networks. KDA is Kadena's native cryptocurrency, and it is used to reward the network's miners.
Kadena supports the human-readable programming language Pact, enabling smart contracts that can be upgraded after deployment. The ecosystem also offers a high-performance Layer-2 network known as Kuro. Kuro can process up to 8,000 transactions per second across its 500 nodes. Combined with Kadena's 20 base chain architecture, Kadena's documentation reports that the ecosystem supports up to 480,000 transactions per second.
