FAQ
What tasks do I need to complete?
You may be required to complete deposit and/or trading tasks within the task validity period shown in your task details (calculated from the date your account is created).
Deposit Task: Fiat or crypto deposited into your OKX Australia account of the amount specified in the OKX app.
Trade Task: Buy, sell, convert, or spot order book trade of the amount specified in the OKX app.
See below for what counts toward each task.
Why didn't I receive the bonus after completing my tasks?
The New User Bonus is only available to users who register through a designated promotional channel (e.g., a partner referral link or OKX campaign page). If your account was not created through a designated channel, you are not eligible for the bonus even if you completed the tasks.
If you believe you used the correct link, submit an appeal via the Rewards Centre within 30 days. If the eligibility check confirms your account was not registered through a designated channel, OKX cannot manually grant the bonus.
How is the deposit task calculated?
The deposit task is measured by Net Deposit:Net Deposit = Qualifying Deposits - Qualifying Withdrawals
Transaction Type | Counted? |
AUD cash deposit (e.g., PayID, bank transfer) | Yes |
On-chain crypto transfer from external wallet | Yes |
Internal transfer from another OKX account or sub-account | No |
Funds received via OKX rewards or promotions | No |
P2P shared orders | No |
Deposit subsequently reversed, charged back, or refunded | No (deducted) |
AUD cash withdrawal | Reduces balance |
On-chain crypto withdrawal | Reduces balance |
Transfer to OKX Pay | Reduces balance |
Transfer to Web3 Wallet | Reduces balance |
Internal transfer to another OKX user | Reduces balance |
Example: You deposit AUD 1,000 then withdraw AUD 200. Net Deposit = AUD 800. If the task requires AUD 500, the task is met. If you then withdraw another AUD 400 (Net Deposit = AUD 400), the task is no longer met.
The AUD equivalent of crypto deposits is determined by OKX using the prevailing market rate at the time of deposit.
How is the trade task calculated?
An Eligible Trade is a buy, sell, convert, or spot order book trade on the OKX Australia platform that:
Incurs a positive trading fee actually charged and paid at execution; and
Is a genuine, arm's-length trade — not a wash trade, self-trade, or coordinated trade to artificially inflate volume.
Excluded (do not count):
Trades on zero-fee (0-fee) trading pairs
Trades with maker rebates or promotional fee waivers
Zero-fee convert transactions
OTC (over-the-counter) trades
Wash trades, self-trades, or circular trades
Trades flagged by OKX's risk systems as artificial or non-genuine
For cumulative trade tasks, qualifying volume is the sum of AUD-equivalent notional value of all Eligible Trades during the task validity period.
For single-trade tasks (where specified), multiple smaller trades do not combine — only a single trade of at least the required value qualifies.
Why is my crypto reward showing as locked?
BTC rewards are subject to a lock-in period shown in your reward details in the OKX app. During this period:
The reward cannot be withdrawn.
The reward can be used for trading on OKX.
Each task reward has its own independent lock-in period from its issuance date.
Why did some of my own funds appear locked?
When you receive a BTC reward, OKX holds an amount equal to the current AUD market value of that reward (the "Hold Amount"). The Hold Amount is not fixed — it moves with the live BTC price.
This means: even if you sell your reward BTC, the Hold Amount continues to track the live BTC price on the original quantity. If BTC rises after you sell, the Hold Amount may exceed what you received — and your available balance may appear restricted. This is expected and not an error; it ensures the reward can be recovered if lock-in conditions are not met.
Example: You receive 0.001 BTC at AUD 150,000 (worth AUD 150). You sell it for AUD 150. BTC then rises to AUD 180,000. Hold Amount = 0.001 x AUD 180,000 = AUD 180. Your balance (AUD 150) is less than the hold, so your account appears locked until the lock-in period ends.
My reward hasn't appeared after completing tasks — what should I do?
Task completion and reward crediting can take up to 48 hours. If your reward is still missing after 48 hours, contact OKX Australia Support via Live Chat with a screenshot of your completed task status.
Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions, together with the accompanying FAQ and the specific task thresholds and reward details displayed to you in the OKX app or Campaign Page, govern your participation in the Campaign.
1. Eligibility
1.1 This Campaign is open to individuals who:
Are new users of OKX Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 22 636 269 040) registering through a designated channel during the Campaign Period;
Are Australian residents aged 18 or older;
Successfully complete KYC verification; and
Are not otherwise disqualified under these Terms.
1.2 The following are not eligible:
Existing or former OKX Australia account holders (regardless of account status);
Users registered under another OKX entity;
Sub-account holders;
OKX employees, affiliates, and their immediate family members; and
Persons on any Australian, UN, US, UK, or EU sanctions list, or otherwise prohibited from receiving digital assets under applicable law.
1.3 OKX reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time, including after rewards have been distributed.
2. One Reward Per Participant
2.1 Each eligible Participant may only benefit from the Campaign once per round, regardless of the number of accounts, devices, email addresses, or IP addresses used.
2.2 OKX may determine, in its sole discretion, whether multiple accounts belong to the same individual (based on device fingerprinting, IP addresses, KYC data, or other signals) and treat them as a single Participant.
3. Rewards
3.1 Rewards are in BTC. The specific amount for each task tier is displayed in the OKX app and on the Campaign Page.
3.2 Reward value may fluctuate with market conditions. The quantity of BTC distributed is calculated based on the BTC/AUD rate at the time of distribution, not at task completion.
3.3 Rewards cannot be redeemed for cash directly from OKX. Participants are solely responsible for any applicable tax obligations. OKX does not provide tax advice.
3.4 Reward cards (if any) must be opened within the period specified on the Campaign Page via the OKX app or they will expire.
4. Lock-In and Hold Amount
4.1 All BTC rewards are subject to a lock-in period and unlock conditions shown in your reward details in the OKX app.
4.2 During the lock-in period, rewards cannot be withdrawn but may be used for trading on OKX. The Hold Amount mechanism operates as set out in the FAQ, which is incorporated into and forms an integral part of these Terms.
4.3 If unlock conditions are not met within the specified timeframe, the reward may be forfeited or reclaimed at OKX's discretion.
4.4 If a Participant materially breaches these Terms or OKX's Terms of Service during the lock-in period, OKX may forfeit the locked reward, with prior notice except where immediate action is required (e.g., fraud, AML/CTF, or regulatory direction).
5. Prohibited Conduct
5.1 The following conduct is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification, forfeiture of all rewards (including already-distributed rewards), and may result in account suspension:
Wash / circular trading — coordinated buy/sell orders to inflate volume without genuine market risk;
Multiple accounts — using more than one OKX Australia account to claim multiple reward sets;
False identity — using fabricated credentials or forged KYC documents;
Account sharing — allowing a third party to complete tasks on your behalf;
Bots or scripts — using automated tools to complete tasks or generate artificial volume; and
Any other conduct OKX reasonably determines is an attempt to exploit or abuse the Campaign.
5.2 Clawback. Where OKX, acting reasonably, determines a Participant obtained rewards through fraud, misrepresentation, or breach of these Terms, OKX may recover rewards already distributed (whether or not the lock-in period has expired) by deducting the equivalent value from the Participant's account or requiring return of the reward. By participating, you agree to such clawback.
5.3 OKX has the right to suspend or freeze accounts in accordance with applicable laws or OKX's Terms of Service.
6. Termination and Amendment
6.1 OKX reserves the right to terminate this Campaign and to modify these Terms or the Campaign Page (including reward amounts, thresholds, and dates) at any time. Any modifications will take effect prospectively from the date of publication. Material adverse changes will be notified in advance where reasonably practicable.
6.2 Tasks completed before termination will be honoured. Rewards already distributed will not be adversely affected (except where clawback or forfeiture applies under Clauses 4.3, 4.4, or 5.2).
6.3 In any conflict between these Terms and promotional materials, these Terms prevail.
7. Disputes
7.1 If you believe a reward was incorrectly calculated, not distributed, or your account was wrongly disqualified, submit a support request via the OKX Australia Help Centre within 30 days of the event.
7.2 OKX will investigate in good faith. OKX's decision is final except to the extent required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
7.3 Nothing in these Terms limits your right to complain to ASIC or any other regulatory authority.
8. Liability
8.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, OKX's liability to a Participant in connection with this Campaign is limited to the face value of the reward(s) the Participant was entitled to receive. OKX is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including losses from BTC price movements.
8.2 Nothing in these Terms limits OKX's liability where not permitted by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
9. General
9.1 Governing law: New South Wales, Australia.
9.2 Nature of Campaign: This is a promotional offer only — not financial product advice, a financial product, or an investment. Rewards are promotional bonuses and do not represent interest, yield, or investment returns.
9.3 Privacy: By participating, you consent to OKX collecting and using your personal information to administer this Campaign, in accordance with OKX's Privacy Notice.
9.4 If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
