How do I secure my account after detecting unusual activity?
If you notice any unusual activity on your account, you have to contact official customer support immediately. We’ll assist you in freezing your account promptly to safeguard your assets. If you spot anything unusual in your account settings, make sure to review and refresh these key security settings:
Account password
You can change your login password by following these steps:
Open your OKX App
Select the Menu option
Open User Center page
Navigate to Profile and Settings
Select Security
Choose Login Password and follow the prompts to update it
Note: it's recommended to use a strong password that includes a mix of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid reusing the same password as your email account. For added protection, clear your browser cache and cookies during this process.
Two-factor authentication
For added account security, we highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA).
Follow the instructions here to link your authenticator.
Note: always back up the QR code during setup in a safe place. You’ll need it if you ever switch devices.
You can turn off or change your authenticator app at any time. However, for security reasons, fund withdrawals will be disabled for 24 hours after making any changes.
API
To view or delete your APIs:
Select the Menu icon on the app > Pull down to access the Toolbar > Select API > Delete any APIs not created by the account owner.
Trusted device
Visit your Security Center and review Device Management.If you see any unrecognized devices, we recommend removing them immediately to secure your account.
Payment method
It’s important to keep your payment methods accurate and up to date. Here’s how to manage them:
Open the OKX App > Navigate to the Exchange section on the homepage and select the Menu icon
Select P2P Trading
Go to Profile on the homepage
Select Profile on the P2P trading page
Select Payment
Under Payment Methods, you’ll see all your linked options
To make changes, tap Edit, update the information, and save
To remove a method, tap Delete, then Confirm to complete the action
Verified Address
On the web
Log in at www.okx.com
Select Assets from the top menu
Select Withdraw
Choose the withdrawal currency
Open the Address Book
Find any Verified Address not added by you > Select Delete > Confirm twice
On the app
Log in > Go to Assets > Select Withdraw
Choose the withdrawal currency > Select network
Select the Address Book > For any Verified Address not added by you, swipe left to delete
Passkey
To review or manage your Passkeys:
Open the OKX App > Select Menu
Go to Profile and Settings > Select Security > Enter the Security Center
Select Security on the user center page
Select Passkeys
Check if there are any Passkeys you didn’t create. If so, reset them to secure your account.If you plan to use a Passkey in the future, you can also add a new one at any time.Learn more about Passkey here.
Third-party login account (Google + Apple ID + Telegram + OKX Wallet)
Unlink your third-party login by using social media. Go to Menu > User center > at Profile, look for Connected accounts > Unlink any social account which is not linked by you.
Use a secure device
We strongly recommend performing all security-related actions on a trusted device that’s free of malware. If your previous device may be compromised, it’s best to use a secure device for any account recovery or checks to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
