Ordinals rejected the opportunity to go "all-in" on "the one" and succumbed to a schism that it never recovered from, and rightfully so.
Not every experiment makes it through the other side, and it is not always for purely technical reasons that things fail or sputter out.
Sometimes a door opens, and you hesitate to walk through it, and then it closes forever before you can reconsider.
