this isn't it, guys

Case Study: Eclipse and Elitism
Before I begin, this is not a 'hate piece' towards Alucard or any of the Eclipse team, just my take on why there’s been so much negative sentiment around them lately.
While I commend the drive he has for Eclipse's success and his desire to build a strong community, a lot of his actions completely undercut those intentions.
Summary
There’s a mix of reasons behind the backlash, but here’s how I’d boil it down:
→ Encouraging users to sell other ecosystems and to buy Eclipse assets
→ "Never wrong" mindset that pushed people away
→ Ego-driven messaging
→ Misalignment in airdrop rewards
The actions of one individual has completely tarnished the public's opinion on Eclipse.
Handling Criticism
When met with critique, his responses have only made things worse - especially for ASC holders who felt betrayed after the airdrop.
→ Told people to sell other assets and buy ASC
→ Pushed users to delist and hold ASC
→ Delivered a weak airdrop
→ Claimed he delivered a '10x to participants' - but what about the people who bought on secondary? Or at 0.5 ETH+?
Blocking Users
I've always personally believed blocking people is -EV. If you don't want to engage or hear from them, just mute?
Leading up to TGE, it was almost like I saw an Alucard blocked image at least once per day, and a lot of them were from ASC holders or heavy Eclipse defi participants - is this how you treat your community?
Such big statements regarding building a strong community - yet, many of the community have felt disrespected and dismissed.
Ethos
Search up his X username and it's filled with negative comments. His Ethos profile has been slashed with 76% voting against Alucard, only 24% defending.
With a 666 Ethos Score, it's a terrible look for an ecosystem community lead.
----
Once again, this isn't to tear down Alucard or Eclipse. It's a reminder that empowerment > elitism. If you want Web3 to win, we must uplift each other - not belittle, block, or flex.
