Some personal news 🫡 After nearly 3 years at @dragonfly_xyz, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined @robotventures as an investment partner. It’s been an incredible privilege learning from the best of the brightest, including @hosseeb, Bo, @tomhschmidt, and @HadickM, our founders, and LPs: in many ways, Dragonfly’s success is just getting started. While at Dragonfly, I had interacted with many funds, but what @rleshner, @tarunchitra, and @0xmadisonn have built over the last few years is nothing short of extraordinary. At its heart, Robot is, of course, trying to pursue a newer direction in venture – the founder and investor model; in recent years, this trend has successfully gone exponential with @traestephens (Founders Fund & Anduril), @sama (ex-YC & OpenAI), and @danielgross (SSI & NFDG) all showcasing that the model works at scale. However, unlike defense and AI, an investment practice that combines building and investing in crypto is even more crucial because the speed of markets – and thus the transmission of information – has accelerated; in other words, understanding the mistakes of past cycles (which only founders really, truly do) is required in crypto to stay competitive and catapult past competitors. Indeed, Robert co-founded @compoundfinance & now @superstatefunds while Tarun still runs @gauntlet_xyz. By building, incubating, and investing in the space, we can develop unique theses that allows our team to peek around the corner and discover the next wave of breakout companies. All of us once imagined what it would feel like when the biggest institutions globally would move into crypto, but now that it’s here, we’re still shocked by how fast this is all happening. In many ways, we're at the precipice of this journey. @Polymarket is already revolutionizing how many watch and absorb the news; stablecoin adoption inches toward ever-greater ATHs through companies like @ethena_labs, and companies like @dawninternet are innovating at the frontier as they seek to build starlink for cities and the first bandwidth marketplace.
