Agreed and also @ernestleedotcom it's going to pass.
The ApeCoin Forum has closed the seven day window for the idea submitted by @CryptoGarga to Sunset the DAO and to distribute all assets to a new company ApeCo that I understand will be at least initially run by the individuals currently running The Ape Foundation.
I recently discussed this proposal with @CryptoGarga and truly believe that his heart is in the right place and that his experience and leadership is what we need going forward.
To be clear, I support this move but do not support the way it has been done so far and hope that the AIP guidelines contained in AIP-1 will be followed in the final draft.
Now that we have concluded the AIP Idea Phase, I look forward to seeing the final draft of the idea incorporating the community feedback and also following the same standards that we have had for every AIP that has been proposed. A quick review of the standard by which the Special Council will be required to evaluate the idea is available here.
The relevant "GUIDELINES" that control the Special Council's decision to green light this proposal also outlined in the document linked above pursuant to AIP-1 are;
...
3. The total cost of implementation must be clear in order for a proposal to go to vote
.... (I anticipate that the final fair market value of the assets being transferred to ApeCo pursuant to this plan will be included in the final proposal. If such amount is included in the final proposal, I would support this measure moving forward to a vote.)
6. A suggested proposal that directly conflicts with another approved proposal cannot go to vote for three months after the original proposal has been implemented to avoid wasting community assets.
... (I anticipate that Special Council will determine that this rule should not apply to this measure because waiting an additional three months will not change anything with the vote. I understand this position and agree with the proposition that waiting would not change anything.)
7. Proposals will not be considered/put up for a vote if they ... are at odds with the mission or values of the APE Foundation.
...(I anticipate that Special Council will determine that given that ApeCo will continue the mission and values of the Ape Foundation that this proposal is not at odds with such mission or values. I would agree with this position.)
Again, to be clear, I fully support this proposal to Sunset the ApeCoin DAO and to move the assets and control over to ApeCo under the watchful eye of @CryptoGarga and the leadership of @HeadofApe.
That said, if this measure were to not pass. @AaronHaber and @ernestleedotcom are still running for ApeCoin DAO Special Council and, if elected, will work hand-in-hand with @HeadofApe and @CryptoGarga to implement AIP-582 On-chain voting and to move the Ape Foundation and the ApeCoin DAO into a position where another measure to sunset the DAO will not be necessary in the future.
Apes Stronger Together.
