Lithium Finance is a decentralized pricing oracle built on the Ethereum network. It provides price data for illiquid, non-public, real-world assets, enabling their tokenization and subsequent use in decentralized finance applications. The protocol incentivizes a network of experts to provide price estimates for off-chain assets using its native token, LITH. Experts providing accurate estimates receive rewards in LITH and those providing inaccurate or malicious information have their staked LITH slashed by way of punishment.
Lithium Finance was founded by MIT Blockchain Engineer and serial entrepreneur Steve Derezinski, and former SendFriend CEO David Lighton. Among other investors, the project has attracted funding from Pantera, Hashed, Alameda Research and Block Dream Fund.
