Decide how much you'll lose before you enter, size the trade so that loss is small (1-2% and never widen your stop. Survive first; profits come second.Protect your downside first; the upside takes care of itself. losses are asymmetric. Lose 50% and you need a 100% gain just to get back to even. Most people don't blow up because they picked bad trades; they blow up because one bad trade was too big, or they let a small loss grow while hoping it would come back
