new week begins with three fuses on the table.
Wednesday night’s CPI is the first fuse. The minutes are hawkish, but nonfarm payrolls are weak, leaving inflation as the only referee in the market. If the numbers are soft, the rate hike story fades; if the numbers are strong, the recently calmed liquidation risk may return.
The Middle East is the second fuse. Four bombings over two days at Riyadh airport caused over 320 casualties, including one American citizen killed.
