EigenLayer introduced a different approach to Ethereum security by allowing existing staked assets to help secure additional services. That creates an interesting infrastructure marketplace, but it also introduces complexity around incentives and risk. The real measure of success will be whether enough useful services depend on this shared security model to generate sustainable demand rather than temporary restaking activity
